CSH Director, Steve Woolf, and Urban Institute Senior Fellow, Laudy Aron, recently co-authored a Health Affairs blog article on the increasing evidence of Americans’ poor health and the role of social spending. In addition to their 2013 National Academies Report, Shorter Lives Poorer Health, authors Woolf and Aron point to the recently published work of Elizabeth Bradley and other researchers which examine the ratio of social spending to health care spending in the U.S. as evidence for the need to address social and fiscal issues that affect health in order to improve the health disadvantage in our country. The link to the article, which was published on the Health Affairs Blog on June 1, 2016 can be found here.
