Number of Elderly Homeless Expected to Increase 33% in Ten Years (National Alliance to End Homelessness, April 2010)

According to estimates made by the National Alliance to End Homelessness, homelessness among the elderly is projected to increase by 33 percent from 2010 and 2020.

According to estimates made by the National Alliance to End Homelessness, homelessness among the elderly is projected to increase by 33 percent from 2010 and 2020. There are currently an estimated 44,172 elderly homeless, which is expected to increase to 58,772 by 2020. This increase is expected to be driven by the overall increase in the elderly population and the relative stability in the proportion of the elderly population facing economic vulnerability.
