We are pleased to announce that Engaging Richmond team member Chanel Bea has been selected by the online magazine, RVANews, as one of Richmond’s “Fascinating People 2016.” As an awardee, Ms. Bea will be among several guest speakers whom the magazine has deemed a “favorite talker” because they have provided insight, wisdom, and information in a captivating way for RVANews stories related to Richmond area life and culture. Each presenter will have eight minutes to present on a topic of their choice and field questions from the audience and from RVANews host, Susan Howson. Below is a brief profile on Ms. Bea that is featured on the RVANews site promoting the upcoming Fascinating People event scheduled February 24th from 5-9 p.m. at the Coalition Theater – 8 W. Broad Street Richmond, VA.

Chanel Bea

A couple of us sit on a monthly committee meeting with Chanel, who’s an essential part of Richmond Promise Neighborhood and also our hearts. It’s part of our job to stay informed about a lot of East End things, and her insight into the community’s wants and needs has helped us steer our own course. We frequently yell out “CHANEL!” whenever she emails us, because we’re hoping that email will be the one where she says, “Hey, guys, do you want to just, like, hang out all the time?”

We congratulate Chanel on receiving this honor and look forward to her talk.
