Research sponsored by the Sodexho Foundation estimates that the impact of hunger in America was $90 billion in 2005:

 

            $14.5 billion spent for charitable efforts

            $66.8 billion for hunger-related illness and psychosocial dysfunction

            $9.2 billion for less education and lower productivity
