It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and colleague, Frances Dumenci.
Frances served as public relations manager for the Center for Clinical and Translational Research and as VCU Medical Center chief of bureau. She was extremely dedicated to her work, and also managed the local public relations activities of the Center on Society and Health. Frances was a devoted friend to our center and will be missed tremendously. She worked tirelessly to promote the work of our center to the news media and the nation’s policymakers, but what we remember most is her kindness, enthusiasm, generous spirit, sense of humor, and contagious laugh. She continually went out of her way to make other people’s burdens lighter and willingly assisted anyone who requested help of any kind.
Frances died Wednesday at VCU Medical Center. The Center on Society and Health staff extend sympathy to her husband, Levent Dumenci, and her family. We hold them in our thoughts and prayers.
