At their graduation ceremony, newly minted graduates of the VCU Master’s of Public Health Program presented CSH Associate Director Derek Chapman, PhD, and CSH Affiliate Faculty Roy Sabo, PhD, with awards for their excellence in teaching.
The VCU Public Health Student Association presents annual awards to faculty members who teach the best core course and best elective course, as determined by a poll of graduate students. The association also presents an award to the best faculty mentor.
This year, Dr. Sabo was presented with the award for “Best Core Course” for his Biostatistical Methods class. Dr. Chapman’s Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology course was selected as the Best Elective Course. Graduate students lauded these professors for presenting the material in an understandable and engaging format and for developing these authentic, thought-provoking courses.
Congratulations to these outstanding professors and to the Class of 2017! We look forward to seeing great work from all of you in the future.
