<\/a>Albert Walker, Community-Academic Liaison for the Center on Society and Health, served as a panelist for the 8th Annual Community Forum held Saturday, June 14th at Virginia State University (VSU).\u00a0The Forum was designed to enlighten the general public regarding issues linked to poverty and school aged children; to enhance the understanding of those tasked with helping persons who must mitigate the daily stresses of life in poverty; and finally to present strategies for adding those children left behind by economic gaps. Walker\u2019s co-panelists were Duron Chavis, CEO of RVAFARMS, Dr. Thad Williamson, Director, City of Richmond Office of Community Wealth Building and Dr. John Moeser, Senior Fellow, University of Richmond Bonner Center for Civic Engagement. During his presentation, Walker used findings from the Center’s recently published issue brief and video, Why Education Matters to Health: Exploring the Causes<\/em><\/a>, to illustrate the important connections between education and life-long health.<\/p>\n
